Oracle’s
Cell Phone Film Fest Calling all filmmakers and smartphone sophisticates: this fall, Oracle hosts its first Cell Phone Film Fest! We are seeking submissions of original short films shot entirely with your cell phone or smartphone. Selected pieces will premiere at Oracle Theatre, September 13 - 16, 2012, in Oracle’s Public Access Theatre - which means ADMISSION IS FREE. The events of the weekend will also be broadcast live on Oracle’s website. See submission guidelines, and let the smartest phone win! Submission Guidelines Submission period: July 20, 2012, at midnight - August 15, 2012, at midnight; no late submissions Films must be no more than 4 minutes in length. Films must be shot ENTIRELY on a cell or smartphone - no other footage may be used. However, editing is allowed. Phone brand/model must be included in the final credits. Films are to be experimental in nature, as defined by the individual filmmaker. Email Vimeo or YouTube link to Jeremy@oracletheatre.org Include a 2 to 3 sentence synopsis/description of the piece. A filmmaker statement as to what makes the film “experimental.” NO SUBMISSION FEE IS REQUIRED Up to 3 films submitted per filmmaker. Contact Jeremy@oracletheatre.org with any questions. Prizes and Awards The festival will recognize the following film upon the completion of the festival: Audience Favorite, Best Cinematography, and the Jury Award Winner. Top 5 films will stream in Oracle Theatre lobby for the 2013 Public Access Theatre season, allowing them to be seen by thousands of people. The Audience Favorite film will be posted and showcased on the Oracle Film website. |
